友善,. – The Southland Conference announced the 2023-24 preseason women’s basketball poll on Tuesday morning and the 皇冠体育365赌博&M University-商务 women’s basketball team was picked eighth.
The poll was announced as part of the Southland Conference 篮球 Media Day at the Coushetta Casino Resort in Kinder.
The SLC preseason polls are voted on by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors, who may not vote for their own teams.
The 狮子s finished tied for fourth in the Southland a year ago and advanced to the SLC Tournament semifinals, falling by just two points in overtime to regular season and conference tournament champion, Southeastern.
SLU is picked as the preseason favorite, while A&M-Corpus Christi, who finished as the co-conference champion last year, is picked second.
This season, A&M-商务 is led by first-year coach Valerie King and the 狮子s play a challenging non-conference schedule, which includes a home game against Houston on December 8.
Southland Conference play begins at 新奥尔良 on January 4 and the SLC home opener comes on January 6 against McNeese. The 狮子s begin the 2023-24 season on November 6 against LeTourneau.
